Small, discreet and silent
The RS8 packs a lot of features into such a compact device. It fits neatly away in the handy carry case included and can easily be taken with you wherever you go.
It's so quiet you can use it discreetly anywhere, and it gives you a reading in around 30 seconds.
· The heart is a small but very powerful pump that beats steadily
· The pressure created by the heart to pump the blood through the blood vessels is called blood pressure
· When the heart muscle contracts the blood surges through the arteries - this is when the systolic (upper) blood pressure value occurs
· The diastolic (lower) value is the resting pressure before the heart contracts again
Hypertension is the term used when your blood pressure remains abnormally high.
The most important causes of this condition are:
· Hereditary factors
· Incorrect diet
· Lack of exercise
(Near Field Communication) makes it quick and easy to transfer your blood pressure readings to other devices such as your laptop or PC. There you can store and analyze them to get the most out of your monitor.
Irregular heartbeat detection
Automatically monitors your heartbeat while your blood pressure is being measured. If an irregular heartbeat is detected an indicator icon will appear to alert you so you can consult with your medical professional.
Right Every Time Positioning Sensor
When the monitor is lower or higher than the heart or too far away from your body the reading will not be as accurate. The positioning sensor helps you to find the proper position and then measuring automatically begins.
The World Health Organization defines hypertension as blood pressure over 140/90mmHg or higher. This accounts for what is known as white coat hypertension; the increase in blood pressure felt by some people simply by being in a clinical environment. But when measuring at home if the reading reaches 135/85mmHG you are advised to contact a healthcare professional to get on advice on ways to reduce your blood pressure.
Discreetly measure your blood pressure even when you're in public. Our new silent pump means that the monitor doesn't make any noise when it inflates so no one will notice you taking a measurement.
Body movement sensor
It's important to remain perfectly still while the monitor takes a reading or your blood pressure measurement can be affected. This sensor detects any movement and warns you not to move.
This monitor has a memory function to store past results. When you push the MEMORY button, the monitor displays the measured values together with the date and time of when they were taken. Now you can see how your blood pressure changes over time and take readings without needing to write it down again and again.
This term indicates that a product has been evaluated by an independent organization and has passed the stringent requirements set out by international organizations. Examples of these organizations include the British Hypertension Society (BHS), European Society for Hypertension (ESH) and International Protocol (IP). 'Clinical validation' indicates much more rigorous assessment than the lesser 'Clinically tested' term.
The monitor allows you to choose between "user a" and "user b" so you can switch between users and still store your results in the device memory.
Hypertension in the morning is an important predictor of increased stroke risk. The monitor has date/time information and can detect if your morning blood pressure is at a dangerous level so you can consult your physician.
A special function that displays the stored measurement results as a graph. If you measure your blood pressure three times a day (morning, daytime and evening) you can see at a glance your blood pressure values and pulse rate trends over the period of a week.
Japanese technology and design
The complete design process for our monitors was carried out in Japan according to OMRON's strict standards of excellence.
Average of 3 readings
Provides a more reliable reading by automatically calculating the average of 3 readings taken over a 10 minute period.
Blood pressure level indicator
Unsure what the numbers mean from a reading? With the blood pressure level indicator you can instantly see if your pressure is within the guideline levels set by the World Health Organization.
Cuff wrapping guide
When the cuff is not positioned correctly it cannot wrap tightly enough around the wrist. This can be a problem with automatic devices and it may result in an inaccurate reading. Thanks to the cuff wrapping guide this is not a problem with the OMRON wrist type devices. It displays a confirmation symbol when the cuff is positioned correctly to ensure a correct reading every time.
The Technology - Intellisense
· OMRON IntelliSense is a technology for blood pressure measurement.
· An IntelliSense monitor inflates the cuff to the ideal level with each use
· No adjustments are required by the user to select an inflation level - this is especially convenient for hypertensive users because their blood pressure is likely to fluctuate.
· Personalised inflation for maximum comfort and accurate results.
Intelligent sensing helps to ensure that the inflation pressure of the cuff is neither too high nor too low. Inaccurate re-
sults and uncomfortable measurements are a thing of the past.
